Amelia was totally fed up with her life and all of its day-to-day boring activities. Then suddenly, she had some fantastic life changing luck. She didn't hesitate. She knew exactly what she was going to do. It didn't take her long before she had boarded a plane"”something that she believed she would never do.Her new surroundings were idyllic, picturesque, breathtaking and beautiful. Her new found tranquillity, however, was short-lived. She had an unwanted admirer, who just didn't want to take no for an answer. But she was a married woman. It seemed that he didn't care about that, and he was going to stop at nothing to win more than her friendship.Over the space of her three weeks in her chosen paradise, and having enough time to gather her thoughts, a sudden realisation materialised. She knew who she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, but was it too late?

Millie Mills is a stay-at-home wife who cares for her husband of 28 years who suffers from multiple sclerosis.

She has two cats, Peaches and Pebbles, and four free-range hens, Cherry, Speckles, Blossom and Snowdrop. She also has a 5-foot pet giraffe called Geoffrey, who is cheap to keep because he is made of wood.

I was attracted to this book by the lovely cover and then by the unusual synopsis. This is a very good story line with a great mixture of humour and sadness. With lots of twists and turns and build up to the conclusion of the story, It keeps you wondering how it's going to end. I found this a most enjoyable read .A great start for this new author and I hope to see many more stories.

Amelia tries to find herself and discover what she truly wants by taking herself off to sunny climes after winning the lottery. However after lots of wine, baguettes and attention from an unwanted admirer, she starts to question what was really wrong with her life. Funny, sad and poignant, this is a nice easy read which many will identify with.
