David is a young Australian man who likes to travel and play in a band. His whole life is ahead of him, but like everyone else he needs clothes. On one particular day when a V neck T-shirt is beginning to lose hope of finding someone to buy him, in steps David into the store. Persuaded to buy the T-shirt with a $5 reduction and entry into a prize draw for a holiday, David buys the T-shirt and at last it has a home.Dave and V is a charming children's book by Vittoria Healey in which the reader follows the adventures of the white V neck T-shirt soon to be called ‘V' after the middle letter of David's name. It won't be an easy ride for V, however, as he learns to cope with the jealousy and bullying of other clothes and the hazards of life including domestic pets and laundry mix-ups. And then there is Venice, the city of romance and song ...

Vittoria migrated from Italy to Australia when she was three years of age, and has lived in Adelaide since then. She is married with three adult children.

From a young child she has always enjoyed fairy tales and fables, and now fulfils a desire to write novels in the fantasy realm. This is the second of her novels.

    What a great story, Brilliant.
Vittoria Healey you are a brilliant writer and kept me, the reader totally mesmerised throughout the story.
I loved the way that you introduced the characters, and I fell in love with most of them, Except the socks and underwear... The toothpaste scenario was so funny, a number of times I have undone my luggage and seen a mess in the bag, Now I understand what really goes on in there. Great.
I loved all the extra information that you put into the book, that is great for the reader.

I really do hope that there is a second book.
    I highly recommend this book.
I wish Dave and V much more great adventures.

What a great book! By the end of the third paragraph my heart was filled with compassion towards V. It's amazing how quickly a connection is made between the reader and V - he gets a place in your heart straight away! You certainly experience a range of emotions as you journey with V through the book. Outstanding writing to be able to do this. From a school teacher’s perspective, I can highly recommend this for a wide range of abilities, both boys and girls. Even an enjoyable read for adults! So many themes in one great adventure. A must read!

Dave and V is a wonderfully creative book about a teenage boy "Dave" and his shirt "V" who go on adventures all around the world. Children can learn about countries of the world in a light way as well as relationships and new friendships formed along the way. The book is funny and intriguing and my son and I could not wait to see where their next adventure would be.Towards the end Dave sees that V has a personality and is accepting of that.Friendship is the most important thing rather than the fact that V can sing! The way that V sees country life Australia (as though seeing it for the first time), is unique and amazing. A fantastic book.

I was totally immersed in V's daily life and adventures.
I enjoyed his outlook on his surrounds from the anxious moments in the backyard to the excitement of international travel.
I especially enjoyed V's interactions with the rest of David's clothes and chuckled at the running dialogue they had with each other.
Throughout the story, I was touched by V's empathy for other clothes and his readiness to protect them from the unfriendly socks and underwear or embrace new ones like Olly and Lorenzo.
