Fiona Bowman, interviewed by East Sussex County Council

Watch Fiona Bowman as she talks about her personal experiences of domestic violence and how she found her way out of it. An emotional story of a woman who goes through continuous physical assault for years from her husband, a story of domestic violence where Fiona Bowman, the author of the book is the victim herself.

It is an autobiographical account of her life in Scotland 30 years ago where she was in a violent and abusive relationship and where, knowing that she would be killed by her husband if she stayed in the relationship, she fled. She takes us through her emotional story of pain and suffering. ‘Did I Wake You, Pet?’ is all about her horrific experiences of domestic violence which she continuously faced for more than ten years.

The book can do wonders for women who are also victims of domestic violence and are suffering abusive behaviour. According to Fiona “2 women a week die as the result of Domestic Abuse and we need to raise awareness. If I can change the life of one person then this will have been worthwhile.”

Fiona now leads an inspirational life as she is the managing director of Dysart 57 Ltd. Also, she is serving as the Interim Head of Facilities at ‘Saferplaces Domestic Abuse Charity in Essex.

Did Wake You, Pet? is a complete account of all the emotional and torturous events that the author faced in the in ten years, which according to her is the worst part of her life.
