Reviews

A novel set in London's East End 1967, In The Blood is the first in a series featuring anti hero Ronnie Hardman. The sharp dressed vicious gangster with ambition and an incurable addiction for rare soul vinyl, is already on his way to the top of an underworld crime empire when an encounter with a mystery female changes his outlook and ambitions forever. If you have already read Pete Mckenna's Who The Hell Is Frank Wilson, you will be familiar with the Ronnie Hardman character, that particular novel is currently being rewritten to fit in with this series. In The Blood although fictional references real and well known cult fiction characters and incidents, interweaving them cleverly through the plot. Very much is style of the Richard Allen books of the 70's, the In The Blood series, which will run from the 60's till the 80's will have a similar cult following. Especially with mod, scooter, skinhead and soul scenes will feature as integral backdrops to the overall story as it progresses. If cult fiction appeals In The Blood is an absolute must have.
