My parents came from Africa when they were young and settled in the Midlands. My family always had businesses running and my dad, a great man, always managed to provide me, my mother and my older brother with many opportunities to grow strong and lead a successful life. We used to go to the temple on a regular basis. I never thought too deeply about what going to the temple meant, it was more a part of our lives and culture than a meaningful ritual. I never explored the concept of God, and never really thought about it or related it to my life, until before I hit 30 years old, financial disaster struck and I lost it all. I stopped, looked around, opened my eyes and eventually my heart, and listened to God. Once I did this, I was able to see clearly what God wanted me to see, a set of logical laws that if followed will give you true happiness rather than a fake temporary happiness fabricated by money and material goods.
