Demetra Demi Gregorakis has found herself feeling that technology has overtaken love in the priorities of life. In an age where whole relationships are carried out by IM, text and email, she remains a dreamer, a hopeless romantic, who wishes that her 'Memories throughout her time she wishes she could keep in jars' will inspire love, romance and happy memories in her readers as she seeks – and hopes that we all find - that which she calls ‘Agapé love,’ the type of perfect love that transcends all others. Her journey is the somewhat convoluted one which most of us take, ebbing and flowing through this stage and that, meeting the right one, the wrong one, the next one … love and adoration, heartbreak and happiness, they all appear here, in thoughts and poems written from the ever-romantic heart.
Demetra Demi Gregorakis is a writer and a lover of poetry. She writes about an Agapé love, which she owes to her beautiful parents, married 30 years, who have shown her the definition of unconditional love. Writing has always been her calling; hoping her words will bring back feeling to millennials who have gone numb from technology.
There are these little memories throughout her time she wishes she could keep in jars: flashes of moments, people, specific places that she wishes she could relive, which bring her heart to her stomach – that make her 20s the most confusing, lonely, amazing, time of her life. She captures her experiences and lessons in Love Letters in the Wall.
One can say she’s dreamer or a hopeless romantic – or just an old-fashioned girl trying to fit in this world where commitment has become feared, love is a convenience and conversations are texting. Whatever it is, her heart is a thousand years old and she’s not like other people. She opens her soul for the world to read – sharing her own personal heartbreak. She hopes her words empower, and inspire that heartbreak, love and the journey we go on is only one aspect of your story – you are whole all on your own.
This is amazing. My heart has been broken and this has given my something to help my pain. I didn't want it to end. Pure poetry, this is such an art. Thank you for sharing your soul.
This book is addicting, its beautiful, heartbreaking, empowering. It makes you think about your life, your relationship and what love means to you personally. I can pick up this book on any day and open it to whatever page I need, and I know there will be words to comfort me and to remind me it'll be okay.
I like that the author wrote it as if I was in her brain, its thoughts, its real, its emotion. I love this book - it's a hidden treasure I hope more get to experience. Heartbroken people, you are not alone - we are beautiful sunflowers, and we will find our way.
This book takes you on a journey; it's so raw and real. It feels as if I'm reading the author's diary, it reminds me how we talk to ourselves - we just have all these thoughts and worries, doubts in our heads - and the author pens it in such a beautiful way. It makes you truly look at the word "love" in a whole new outlook.
I needed this book, as I have felt broken, the author reminds me that I will bloom again. I'm not a big fan of poetry, and the way this book is set up, I carry it with me - and look at pages when I need some wisdom and the sunshine. Thank you for this piece of your heart.
