The author has a background in the health profession. Writing has been a passion right from a young age but much of it has been in the world of health sciences. Amateur poetry and fiction writing started in the early years of secondary education but became a background activity during the years of higher education and career progression.

Other interests include playing the acoustic guitar, travelling and watercolour painting.
