After his time in Antarctica, he worked with Family Services for many years, specialising in the rehabilitation of young offenders and supporting families in crisis. He has a first-class honours degree in Youth Justice. He lives in Yorkshire with his fiancée Sarah, plays guitar in a cover band and gets into the mountains whenever he can.
