Pam was brought up in West Hartlepool, UK, and studied natural sciences at the University of Cambridge. She spent several years teaching chemistry and then moved to the NHS in various public health roles. This was followed by work as a freelance trainer, particularly in cancer awareness.
Now retired, Pam is indulging her interests in writing and in travel. She has owned dogs most of her adult life.
