Tina Penfold was born in 1954 in Bristol of working class parents. She spent her working life as a High School Teacher on the Isle of Wight, before retiring. After inventing bedtime stories for her children, her now grown up son, encouraged her to write them down so that other children could also enjoy them. Her son Edward has contributed towards this book as the illustrator.
