'I have spent a good deal of time teaching my children and grandchildren to respect the other creatures we share our world with. Many children and even many grown-ups, suffer from arachnophobia with unfortunate results for themselves and the spiders; particularly those who inhabit our homes. My hope is this house spider adventure will dispel some of those fears and influence children and their parents to look kindly on these useful and harmless little creatures and indeed, all life forms which make up our world. They all have their part to play in ensuring our unique planet and the life it supports, will continue.' Raymond T. Davies, author of Jimmy (the House) Spider

A delightful read which is guarenteed to captivate a young child's imagination. My grandchildren will definitely enjoy this story of a fond old grandpa and his little spider friend , Jimmy. Gentle storytelling in simple and instructive language.

This is a delightful little book, written by a grandfather that obviously enjoys the company of his grandchildren. This is how Raymond tells the story, as if he had a child on his knee telling a wonderful tale of Jimmy, a house spider that lives in his pocket. Charming as this book is it also carries a note of seriousness, telling us to value all forms of life with which we share our lives and if left alone will only enhance our lives. Read this with a child or two on your knee.Sr2
