The Want Book

When asked, “what did you learn at Sunday School today”, my four-year old daughter replied, “Just another fairy tale about Jesus.” I suddenly realized I could not teach what I did not understand clearly myself. The verse, Mathew 7:7,8, came to mind. Thus, began my lifelong search to find universal truths in all the world’s respected religions.

I wanted to know how to explain and teach logically the mysteries and wonder of life to children in our multicultural society. This book is the result of my efforts.

Sandra Osborne was the middle child in a family of five siblings. She met her husband in high school and they have been married for fifty-seven years. After teaching young children for eight years, Sandra became a stay-at-home mother, raising her own children, Laura and Robert. When Rob was in grade six, Sandra returned to the classroom and taught kindergarten until retiring in 1998. Since then, Sandra and her husband have enjoyed travelling to many countries. The book was developed over several decades in order to clarify her own thoughts and to explain beliefs logically to children.
