When James Bradley offers Mr Perkins a new job with accommodation thrown in Mr Perkins has no qualms in accepting the offer. But the accommodation is not a patch on their modern home in Empress Drive, Manchester; it's a lonely three storey high Victorian semi with next door boarded up in a run-down street.Mr Perkins daughter, Molly is disappointed with it, but at least she makes a close friend in Sarah Watts at her new school and that's a bonus because strange things are happening in Molly's bedroom. First the tapping and then the voice; who is the boy in the wall?In a thrilling adventure author Brian Porter takes the reader into a malevolent world where only the fact that Molly is special can save herself and Sarah and the boy in the wall.

Brian Kevin Porter was awarded gold and silver stars for his writing at school.
Coming from a family of twelve he had no choice but to go straight into factory work when leaving school. It wasn't until the year 2000 that he decided to write a column for the local newspaper due to factory closure. From this he won a silver pen. This inspired him to write his first children's bedtime short stories about a family of rabbits in a hedgerow. He enjoyed it so much he decided to write about witches and magic, Molly Perkins was born. Brian has written several stories of Molly Perkins' magical powers and adventures.

I absolutely love this book the story line was great . Loads of twists in the story. Peter was scary but couldn't stop just had to keep reading and just when you think it's all over bad guy defeated... the story drags you back in for another round of twists and turns. I'd love one of those little fluffy creatures sound so cute. I couldn't put it down . Sarah is hilarious, she's my favorite character. Some of the things she comes out with are so funny and poor Jack just can't catch a break bless him. Love the banter the main characters have with each other . I like Molly Perkins she has a calm head even in the face of danger and pulls the other two together when they are freaking out which is quite a bit :-D. I really like the fact that the story is based around my local area . Places that I have grown up around and know personally.

First off i would like to say how beautifully this book is written.
I received this book as a gift and have been unable to put it down.
As soon as the book began you're thrown into an awkward situation and gripped from the start and I love how the relationship between Molly and Sarah developed into a strong bond.
Theres alot of ups and downs which has keeped me clinging on and wanting more.
For anyone that likes there fantasy / mystery reads this is a book for you.

I think this book is fantastic, I've read most of the molly Perkins books throughout the years. I think the graphics on the front cover says it all with the blurb, this book is by far a good read. Also I love the Harry Potter series but I am by far drawn into this book more.

First I have to say that I was first drawn to "A Witch In Time Saves Nine" by the very colourful and intriguing house on the cover, it certainly gives the apt and fitting feeling of being haunted and unusual.
When twelve year old Molly Perkins' out of work dad is offered a job in Manchester he has no qualms in accepting the offer even though accommodation is included. This means a move to Manchester, leaving their very modern and happy home in Sutton in Ashfield. When the day arrives to move, Molly is dreading it and her fears are justified when they pull up outside of a lonely, derelict Victorian semi in a run down street. After starting a new school and making friends with a girl called Sarah, Molly begins to hear the voice of a boy through her bedroom wall. Together with Sarah, they begin to investigate who the boy is and where he is hiding - since behind the wall is only derelict land. Can they help save him and what will they encounter in doing so???
This book kicks off pretty quickly and is a thrilling adventure story that both young and old would happily enjoy. In fact, I believe this book could easily give Harry Potter a run for its money. So much imagination by the author - Brian Kevin Porter - has gone into the story, from a shrinking and talking book to fantastical evil beasts and magical talking crystals.
There's also some very warm and engaging characters, good and bad they are portrayed brilliantly - I loved the relationship Molly had with Sarah who in particular is funny and Peter, the one responsible for all the malice, truly is evil and deadly.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book, again this is a story that would work really well as a movie and suspect it would be appreciated by the older audience as much as the younger ones.
There's another book to follow - "The Crypt of Jackson Priest Book Two" and I wouldn't hesitate to read that one too when published.
