Ordinarily unthinkable :Just completed reading ordinarily unthinkable, what an absolute thrill ride of a book, seamlessly guiding you from humour to sadness, kindness and also all out empathy for the lead character. This was gritty earthy and brilliantly written, I for one hope this is the first of many more books of this genre. Eddie you have done brilliantly to awaken my appetite for reading again and for that I thank you.I look forward to the next offering.

Having read books for many years from different authors, different styles and different genre. I can honestly say I happily place this book amongst my collection. It is intriguing from the start, with characters introduced and interwoven into the story. It builds as you read and becomes something you don't want toput down. You root for the main character and with the final plot twist leaves you wanting more. Cannot wait for more from this Author

  • Andy Gurr

A brilliant story that the author describes so well you feel as though you are a witness to all of the exciting events. A well written tale with unexpected twists and turns that covers the whole gambit of human emotions. You become so wrapped up in the story that it is nearly impossible to put the book down. The only disappointment, from this first time author, was reaching the end as I was left wanting more and more. Can't wait to read the next novel. Very strongly recommended to anyone but in particular any bikers or armed forces veterans.

A fantastic first novel that has left me wanting more. The author has written in such a way that I could see the scenes clearly in my mind and it felt like I was there. The story made me smile, made me winch and almost feel the pain of the characters. Who knows what becomes of Grant? Can't wait to read another installment to find out.

  • Martin Hill [Tinhill]

Are you certain that this book is the authors first outing? What a magnificent story! It kept me turning the pages from the very start and building my feelings for the main character, Grant, who I have to say I did not particularly like at first but Eddie Mann drew me in and with each reveal about Grant's life journey my empathy and understanding of him grew.
I laughed, I grimaced and yes I almost released a few tears. The methods used for revenge were well researched and like the whole book was believable, possible even. No special powers, no unbelievable fights, a hero the reader can believe in, a hero that could be anyone of us if all the wrong buttons were all pressed at the wrong time.

For a first novel, Ordinarily Unthinkable, is extraordinarily fantastic and I would recommend it to every thriller reader.

Here's hoping for more from this brilliant new writer, I am fan already and I want more as quickly as possible. Well Eddie.

I felt for Grant and his journey to find his inner peace. I am hoping and looking forward to maybe the next instalment!

  • Awesome read

A great first novel that kept me captivated from the start. I found the writers description of events that took place were very realistic as if I was there which was scary!! I really hope this leads to a sequel. Well worth a read folks!!

  • Glenys Brooker

Not the usual type of book I would choose to read, once started couldn't put it down, great story.
Every thing is just right, just fingers crossed Grant goes on to live another day--- or book!

  • Neil Tayles

I was kindly sent this book by Austin Macauley Publishers in exchange of an honest review.

I was so excited when I was approached by the author Eddie Mann asking me if I would review his book as I had it on my list of books that I would like to read.

I was certainly not disappointed when I started reading the book,  after being just a few pages in I was hooked and found it extremely difficult to put down.

The things that have happened to Grant and what he has done to others are absolutely Ordinarily Unthinkable!

The story was action packed and gripping from start to finish, it had aspects of humour and at times brought tears of sadness to my eyes! The details that Eddie explains in this story were at times stomach churning which added more to the atmosphere of the book and made you need to keep turning the pages.

I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone it is brilliantly written. I'm personally hoping that there will be a sequal it was honestly that good!

NB There is a lot of violence and sexual references in the book so if this isn't your thing be warned before you read it.

  • Mark Mitchell

Excellent book with a very good and a gripping story line that keeps the readers in suspense. I certainly recommend Ordinarily Unthinkable.

It's ordinarily unthinkable to believe that this debut book wasn't going to get five stars after a cracking opening chapter where we are introduced to the mysterious Grant and left wondering what he was up to. Compelling and addictive this story has you glued to the pages to the very end....and what an ending! Strong, determined and fearless, this man and his beloved bike is on a mission and won't stop till he's carried out what he came for.
"Ordinarily Unthinkable" written by Eddie Mann is the story of ‘Grant', a man with a mysterious and tragic past. After the senseless and vicious deaths of his wife and daughter, he seeks vengeance on those responsible for this abhorrent act.
Who is responsible and will Grant finally exact revenge for those who he loved and lost?
I liked all the characters in the story, good and bad their were all excellent in their portrayal, I especially liked Grant and Ian and their dedicated and sometimes humorous friendship, the banter was perfect and I also liked unassuming but tough Emma.
I was particularly interested in the flashbacks Grant had which helped me to understand the background to the story, they really pieced the whole thing together. The retribution was at times quite brutal and gruesome but appropriate in its necessity and if easily offended by grisly torture this book may not be for you, however I really enjoyed every minute and found it hugely entertaining.
I highly recommend this action packed, fast paced thriller, its excellently written, descriptive, emotional and very easy to get hooked straight into. It really is a gripping rollercoaster of a ride! Will there or won't there be a sequel? We'll have to wait and see but I for one would love to see Grant return in the next instalment of this biker man's life.
