  “Totally engrossing”
  Thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down.
  What these poor girls went through was appalling and it makes the reader want to rescue them from their plight.
  Written with respect and insight. Totally recommend it.

  As a 1950’s child, I am very happy that I did not have the experiences of Diane & Jo!
  This book tells of the very disturbing experiences of a family of 1950’s children, based on true life. To think that 2 exceptional ladies had such a bad start in life but with the support of their amazing aunt & uncle turned their lives around.
  I would recommend this book to all.
  Tracey Anne thank you for writing their story.

  This book was very easy to read, I couldn't put it down. It gave an insight into a traumatic childhood.
  Hard to believe these two young girls got through their experiences to lead a good life.
  It's more poignant as I have met these two ladies and it's incredible how they have survived to lead a well-balanced life and fulfilling life.

  This book is an extremely sad, moving and harrowing depiction of two very young sisters experiences, as a consequence of their abusive and neglectful parents. Although the subject of the story is shocking and awful, there is still some humour in parts. How Diane and Jo survived this abuse and managed to turn their lives around with the care of their Aunt and Uncle is amazing and inspiring. I would definitely recommend this book.

  The thoughtful and well-written story of Diane, Jo and their brothers surviving the horrors of an abusive and neglectful childhood from their parents who should have loved and protected them. I was fully invested in their story and read this book within a week. Hope there are more books from this great author!

  I say binge-worthy as I read this book in one sitting while spending the day in the garden. I really enjoyed it too!.. In the sense of it was hard to put down as, reading about the disturbing upbringing of these two girls, had me gripped. I needed to know whether or not, they were eventually rewarded with a better and more peaceful life. Worth the read!

  This was a true story about 2 sisters and their upbringing, the storytelling was vivid and true to life. It's a book that is powerful and easy to read. Fantastic when a true story is written, it makes it more tangible and real. Parts of the book were very emotional, which is a sign of a good book when you have been swept away in the story. A must-read book.

  I really enjoyed this book. I currently care for 2 young people who have experienced similar experiences to 2 these children. It's great to read that they have gone on to enjoy a fullfilling life, although I confident the trauma will always be with them.
