Dr Hassan has marvellously captured the genesis of Gwadar's development and it's pivotal role of promising geo-strategic and geo-economic structure of the region. The theme of the book is aptly built on the fact that importance of SLOCs is here to stay and Gwadar's strategic value is destined to multiply by the day. Pak Army's commendable role in the progress of Balochistan amid hostile environment has also been vividly elaborated. The book is a must read for all those interested in geo strategic and geo economic chessboard of one of world's critically important regions.
Dr Yaser's research aptly highlights the importance of Gwadar Port and the vital role it is destined likely to play in the foreseeable future. The book explains the significance of the strategic port in the Indian Ocean Region in the purview of regional and global interests. While drawing linkages of the port with CARs it amply highlights the importance of Wakhan Corridor and the Chinese interests thereof. Interestingly, the book also elucidates the German involvement in the mega project. The book sums it up with some very pragmatic recommendations for Pakistan. The very important role of Pakistan’s Army in the growth of Balochistan is also unveiled in the book; something which is usually found missing in previous researches or if present, generally carries a tinge of negativity. The book is recommended for both the students and policy-makers alike who are interested in Geo-politics and IR.
Fully agreed with Ali and Sadinia adding only the inmost appreciation and gratitude for Dr Hassan for a comprehensive and far reaching input on a cosmic subject of geo political setting in the most understandable , fathomable and explicable modus that has undoubtedly made the book MUST read not only for whom the subject concerns but for every researcher , educator and apprentice / learner of Strategic Studies, Political Science, History & International Relations.
Loved it!
It was probably the best book. Excellent effort!
Brilliant work!
Author has presented an apt analysis on a contemporary topic. I agree with the findings of the research and at the same time recommend Indian authorities to read it to avoid emerging regional isolation. I suggest the author to further highlight the value of Galadriel Port with reference to the Blue Economy.
I recommend it to every student for understanding the contemporary emerging global trends.
