Children's Book Author Lorna Child Featured in the Bournemouth Daily Echo

The author of the popular children’s fantasy book Happy Ever Afters, Lorna J Child, was featured in the Bournemouth Daily Echo on the 11th of December, 2019. Bournemouth Daily Echo is a local newspaper that covers the area of southeast Dorset, including the towns of Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Hampshire. It is a well-reputed paper that is more than a century old with its first issue published in 1900. The feature praised her kind efforts as she donated some copies of her book and committed to donate a portion of her book’s sales to a local charity in Southbourne.

The book Happy Ever Afters is a children’s book that is based on a boy called Rowan who lives with his mum. One day, he discovers a book in a local charity shop. Upon reading, he discovers that it is incomplete and as soon as he reaches the last page, he is magically sucked into the book and lands in a forest. There, he meets a creature called Gunther who explains to him that the book was written to protect a boy called Dominique who was left in the book by his grandfather. He promised to join him once the book has a happy ending written but somehow he disappeared leaving Dominique alone in the book. Lorna J Child was born is Glasgow and lived there till she was seven. She was fond of the books like The Famous Five as a child and loved to read. She moved to Bournemouth soon after and has been there since then. She has always wanted to be a writer. After serving years of service in the care for home and the elderly sector, she finally decided to publish her first book.
