Sam Davies's article in magazine for Kiki and Raffiki the City Rabbits - A Birthday Surprise

Samantha Davies, a mother of three from Larkhall, has published her first children's book after her love for her rabbits. Kiki and Raffiki - The City Rabbits - A Birthday Surprise is a short children's book featuring illustrations that Ms Davies drew herself. Sam lives in Bath with her family. Her pets include two rescue rabbits which feature in her book and a horse. Sam formally trained as a designer and her career has been in design and education.

The plot follows the secret adventures of two rabbits, Kiki and Raffiki, and their friends. She was inspired to write the 24-page book after adopting her own pet rabbits from Bath Cats and Dogs home five-years-ago. The storyline has a very cute concept about the birthday of Kiki, which is tomorrow. She’s sad because she thinks Raffiki has forgotten about it! But he's planning a surprise of his own. The Rabbits Kiki and Raffiki live in the back yard of a beautiful house in Bath.

Raffiki is the main character, an adventurous buck with a heart of gold and Kiki is his best friend. Bessie and Beans are guinea pigs that live in the garden next door with Hamish the hedgehog, they are all keen to join in and like to chuckle a lot. They are real characters and they often had wildlife visitors to the yard such as robins and a toad. It is a story about sharing and caring for each other which teaches the importance of friendship.
