Our talented author Helen Dymond will attend her book launch event for her book, Finding Handel. The book launch will be held at The Rotunda, Church of St Anne and St Andrew Salusbury Road, Queens Park. The event will start on Sunday 12 December, from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. Finding Handel is the story about sixty-five-year-old Handel, whose journey through Holland is interrupted by a road accident. The novel takes us right away from the usual stereotypes of Handel as a haughty courtier or a comical foreigner and into the mind of an intensely private and passionate man whose unique musical gifts are enjoyed more widely today than ever before. Helen Dymond’s fascination with Handel started in the 1980s when she sang in the Handel Opera Chorus. For forty years, she was mainly occupied in teaching English and lecturing in Humanities; her final post was at the City Lit, London, teaching Handel’s Operas and Oratorios and Psychology of Religion.

Gary has published two children's poetry books prior to this adult book, Mom I Love Spaghetti and I Like Parades. He has won numerous major awards and honours for his work. He also worked at Apple Blossom Connections, where he wrote a monthly column.

David Hawker will be featured in an interview with BBC Radio Cornwall for his book, Medicine in the Mountains. The interview will be live on 1st August 2022 at 12:10 PM. During the interview, the author will share his writing struggles and will answer questions about the story. Medicine in the Mountains shares a dramatic story against the backdrops of broad brush strokes of Nepal's history and geography. The book shares the vision of Nurse Ellen Findlay and surgeon Mike Smith pioneered in expanding medical care to some of Nepal's poorest and most isolated communities after the massive earthquake of 2015. His first book Kanchi Doctor was the biography of one of Nepal’s first surgeons.

Finding Handel, a magnificent story drafted by Helen Dymond will be a part of an online course at the City Lit. The book is to be taught in the winter program of the Music History book club, starting on 12th December 2022.
