Mary Ann was born in England to Irish parents, where her love of stories began. Attending Kesteven and Grantham Girls School, her favourite subject was English. From an early age, Mary Ann enjoyed books, proudly starting her own home library with just ten treasured books. Later, she went on to work at the University of Bedfordshire Library and happily raised a large family of her own. Stories took great place in everyday life. Mary Ann loved books. She believed a book shop should be as tempting as a cake shop and every way as delicious and enjoyable!
