Anne Armitage
Brought up in Hampshire, dyslexia limited academic progress but helped evolve memory. An air hostess, she met husband Ken, an oil industry geoscientist. She helped build ‘Koana’, became a coastal skipper and sailed her to the Med. 45 years were spent UK and France based, where they renovated an old farm, spending a quarter of this time in several other countries. MS diagnosis, 1999, forecast death within 5 years. They (see musmate.com) made a harness so she could walk further, faster and keep fitter. While Ken consulted she found that, with a PC, she could write, despite dyslexia.
