Monica Chapman
Monica Chapman taught art for 44 years, 38 of those years in Haling Manor High School, South Croydon. Remaining there for three more years when it became an Academy: She then volunteered at Oasis, Shirley having retired. In 2021 moving to the North East Yorkshire Coast, her students, many of whom had chaotic lives, taught her an immeasurable amount about life and human nature. This led her to pursue writing, as well as art, to reflect on the lessons she learnt. She has two wonderful children of her own. Now living very happily by the sea, where as well as writing, painting, gardening, swimming, walking and spending time with family and friends, volunteering keeps her off the streets!
