Paul Cosgrove
My life so far has been a journey of achievements and growth in my outlook on life. When I was five years old, I had a brain tumour which left me blind in my left eye and half blind in my right, suffering a stroke down the right side of my body after surgery. This didn’t stop me; this was just the catalyst to a world of self-development.
I went through the Scouting family from Beavers, Cubs, Sea Scouts and then Venture Scouts. I received the Jack Cornwell awards.
I used to swim for the West Midlands squad in the junior and senior teams. I then made it into the England squad.
In my late 30s, I did a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology and Law, which I completed through the Open University.
