Matthew Levy
Matthew Levy is not a celebrity chef. He does not have a TV show, a supplement line or a perfect green smoothie routine.
He’s simply a person who grew weary of being deceived about food.
For years, Matthew watched people he love shuffle in and out of hospitals, battle their weight, their blood pressure, their blood sugar, their energy, their mood, all while being told they were ‘well-fed’ because the shelves were full and the adverts were bright.
It did not add up.
So, he started asking straightforward, very annoying questions:
- If we are so well-fed, why are we so sick and exhausted?
- If the food system is so advanced, why are depression, diabetes and obesity rising together?
- If something is truly food…why does it need thirty-seven ingredients and a cartoon character to sell it?
This book comes out of those questions and out of years buried in research papers, talking to dietitians and doctors, listening to farmers and food workers, and paying close attention to the labels, the marketing tricks and the quiet politics behind what lands on your plate.
Matthew is not here to impress you. He’s here to level with you.
