Thami Msubo

Born in the vibrant township of KwaMashu, Msubo’s journey is one of bold ideas, global reach and transformative leadership. A Boy Scout leader by the age of 15, he later earned a master’s degree with the Rector’s Book Prize in Germany through a prestigious DAAD scholarship. His early development included business administration training at Siemens AG in Munich and Bayer AG in Leverkusen, where he deepened his expertise in people leadership, business transformation and operational excellence. He also worked on short-term secondments in other multi-cultural environments such as India and Australia and spent most of his working life in South Africa, driving large-scale turnarounds spanning other African countries. His life is guided by a powerful intuition: never dismiss an idea until tested, because even an idea that sounds “crazy” can reshape the future. A humanist, change-maker and jazz-loving marathoner, his life is also guided by the enduring values of his late mother, Ntombi.
