Jeffrey Nicholls was born in 1945, the first of the 11 children of Doctors Phillipa and James Nicholls. He had a Catholic education and entered the Dominican Order in 1963. He was judged unsatisfactory and asked to leave in 1968. Since then, he has worked in various trades while exploring the possibilities of scientific theology.
