Although well qualified academically, V. R. Wilson’s working career was cut short by family health issues. Membership of various bodies, however, widened her experience, knowledge and interests. Over four years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery but secondary cancer appeared for which she receives monthly chemotherapy treatment. This keeps her going but more slowly than before. It has meant also no travelling overseas making her very grateful to have already travelled widely.
