My name is Dougay Roberre. Approaching 40, I left Sydney, Australia, to live in Nice, France. I was raised in the land of sea, sand, sustenance, and sex. There I’d experienced a lot of the first three. On the Cote d’Azur I bought an attic apartment; saved a beautiful woman from dying on my doorstep; discovered who killed a beautiful blonde; and in an off-handed way brought about the tragic death of a Hollywood heart throb. All that lay in the past. I couldn’t foresee I’d soon be stepping on the toes of a crime gang; I’d be fighting off thugs in a street in Milan; I’d be spending the night on a roadside garbage dump; and I’d become enthralled in a 40-year-old kidnapping. If I could have foreseen all that, I’d have stayed in bed.

I really enjoyed this book, spending time with a variety of characters in France & Italy, discovering how their lives entwine, joining the clues & solving the crimes.

A Benton Mate (see you soon mate!)book two in the DougayRoberre series This was a thrilling second book by the author Allan McFadden. After reading the first book the second one puts you in your seat to read on each chapter capturing your attention. Dougay Roberre is a wonderful character who gets himself into many encounters in his daily life. Without giving too much away I loved the story line and characters. Being in the home of his birth was quite different to his Australian way of life. Looking forward to seeing where Dougay goes with his life decisions and friends. Great read and no doubt series 3 will add more insight to this fun loving character.

Poker faced, Milan high fashion escort or in your face, fisticuffs, Dougay is a character I want to keep reading about. Just what will he do with the diamonds? Can't wait for book 3. Thanks for the thrills and spills!

A well-written original novel that is a must-read. The book moves at a fast pace following the everyday lives of some irresistible lovable characters. McFadden has made use of humor as well as giving the reader a sometimes moving and sometimes shocking look at how ordinary people can get into trouble with criminal activity through no fault of their own.

This is the second of Allan McFadden’s Dougay Roberre books. It is a fun read and builds solidly on some of the main characters from the first book.
An excellent piece of noir fiction. Dougay is a likeable character with an uncanny knack for piecing together evidence. Funny, sad, gutsy.
    Waiting now for book 3.

A Bientot, Mate ! ( see you soon, mate! ) The second book in the Dougay Roberre series is full of thrills, spills and chills. Dougay takes on more than he bargained for and stumbles onto some rather dubious characters and disturbing discoveries. This tale will appeal to those who like: crime, a project, a good time, with a pinch of spice and humor. Anticipating the next thriller, to find out more of Douglas' own backstory, which is a mystery in itself and the underworld he encounters along the way.

‘A bientot, Mate! ‘ was a welcome reprieve from Spanish politics in ‘Homage to Catalonia!
The second book in the Dougay Roberre series moves at a good pace and I really enjoyed catching up with Dougay and his latest exploits in the home of his birth.
I’m looking forward to reading Book 3!
