Inspired by her children and grandchildren, Jane Begley presents an enjoyable short collection of whimsical stories. With a gentle emphasis to share youthfully important lessons and morals, these pages will delight readers from young to old. Animals, children and fairies all lead these tales of mischief, and they do so with a warm and light-hearted approach to situations and shenanigans that youngsters seem to find. Whether it be a reminder that yes, each and every one of us are special and unique in different ways; or an instruction to always do the right thing; or a scolding to strive to get along with one another; or an encouragement to think outside the box and be creative, Jane Begley urges the reader to firstly, smile at the humour and preciousness of her stories, and secondly, to reflect on the meaning and moral of the tales.

Jane Begley is a mother of two and grandmother of five. Her grandchildren have given her enormous pleasure and delight over the years, and are a source of inspiration, giving her lots of different ideas. Their love and amazing insight into life never cease to amaze her.

I was kindly sent this book by Austin Macauley Publishers in exchange of an honest review.

I thought this book would be really good with a title of ‘A Magical book of Children’s Stories’ and with such a good synopsis on the back. However, I was left dissappointed, there are 13 stories in one book and some of them seem like they’re unfinished and not really ‘magical’, maybe the book should have been called something else so that the reader won’t expect ‘magic’ in the stories.

The illustrations in the book are very good.

Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone, as previously stated some of the stories seem unfinished.

I bought this book for my kids hoping that it would help them with their reading. So far they are really enjoying it and find the stories to be engaging and exciting! I would highly recommend this book if you’re looking for an adventurous all round good children’s book.

I got this book for my friends little girl and she loves it. They read a few pages every night before bed. It's a wonderful book and an easy read. The stories all have a good message and they are very relatable. I'd definitely recommend!
