Helen had spent over five years piecing together an evocative collection of her creative writing complemented with photos demonstrating heartfelt desire to preserve nature and the greats who had also exchanged energy with a parallel universe not unlike our own.

She had felt an awakening of formative years. 

Helen Ratcliff has a natural artistic flair and love of the natural world. She was given her first camera as a young teenager, which replaced her sketch book and paintbrush. She began her career as a photographer’s assistant, where she learned the basic techniques of photography. Later, she found new experiences while working for HandMade Films, English National Ballet and The Conran Shop…to mention a few.

Helen has not married or had children but has followed a passage through time, studying big cats, creative writing, creating a blog and raising awareness for wildlife and conservation welfare.

Five years ago, she began a journey along River Thames to work each day. Every morning, Helen walked to work from Wandsworth Bridge to Albert Bridge. Then A Slice of River was born…
