A young kangaroo growing up in the beautiful Australian outback, finds herself outgrowing the safety and comfort of her mum’s pouch. Growing up is challenging no matter who you are. Katelyn Alderson is a Seattle-born ex-pat living abroad in her new home: Slovakia. A teacher and dreamer, she tells stories to her students of her many travels around the world. Katelyn loves animals and always finds a way to have them in her life whether by volunteering at local shelters, teaching at farms, or curling up with them on rainy days.
This was a fantastic read with my 5 year old daughter. We had some great conversations from it about growing out of things as you get older. She loved searching the pages and googling all the different Australian animals that we found throughout the story. Highly recommend for parents and teachers alike! It's a great conversation starter about important topics.
