Book Description

What if the ones we love never truly leave us?

Always With You is a heartwarming story of love, loss, and the invisible threads that keep us connected—no matter where we are.

When young Scarlett begins to feel the ache of missing those she loves, her mum helps her discover a world full of gentle signs, quiet magic, and the deep knowing that we are never really alone. With the help of her brave lion Lenny and her joyful puppy Pudding, Scarlett sets off on an adventure of the heart—guided by love, memory, and the wonders of nature.

Written with tenderness and truth, this story is a comforting companion for children navigating grief, change, or separation—and a gentle reminder that real love stays with us, always. A timeless gift for any child who needs to know: you are safe. You are loved. And the world is better with you in it.

Kim-Adele Randall is a mum, storyteller, and leadership coach whose greatest joy is raising her daughter Scarlett. Inspired by their journey through loss, love, and healing, she writes stories to help children feel safe, seen, and endlessly loved. Through heartfelt words and gentle wisdom, she hopes every child who reads her books knows they are never alone and always enough. Always With You is her first picture book, created as a gift of love for Scarlett.

What makes this story especially beautiful is its respect for a child’s emotional world. It does not rush healing or offer false reassurance. Instead, it creates space for grief while also showing how love can be found, held, and grown in other relationships and within oneself. It offers reassurance without false promises, allowing space for sadness while softly affirming that she is whole, loved, and enough.

Always With You is a tender and beautifully written story by Kim that offers comfort in the moments we need it most. As a woman in her 20s, I still find this book deeply moving. The emotions are so genuine, and the message so universal, that it resonates far beyond childhood. This is a powerful, heartfelt read, not just for children, but for anyone who needs reassurance, hope, and a reminder that they are never truly alone!

I wasn't prepared for how deeply this book would move me. Whilst Always with You is beautifully written for children navigating grief, its wisdom speaks to all of us. Kim-Adele Randall has created something truly special here. Through young Scarlett's journey of learning to recognise her loved ones in nature's small miracles (ladybirds, feathers, stars), we're reminded that love never truly leaves us, it simply changes shape. What makes this book exceptional is its trauma-informed approach to grief. It doesn't rush past difficult emotions or offer empty platitudes. Instead, it holds space for the complexity of loss whilst gently affirming that we carry love within us always. The message that we're valued simply for being ourselves, not for what we achieve, is revolutionary for any child (or adult) who has experienced conditional love. The lullaby woven through the story brought me to tears. As someone who supports others through grief and loss, I wish I'd had this book as a child. It's the kind of story that sits on bedside tables and gets returned to again and again, not just in moments of loss, but whenever we need reminding that we're never truly alone. Perfect for families navigating bereavement, but honestly, this is a book for anyone who needs a gentle reminder that love transcends all boundaries and that magic lives in the moments we're still enough to notice. Keep tissues nearby. Your heart will thank you.
