Angels Love Tragedies

In a world where angels’ purpose and behaviour is questionable, how are humans supposed to trust them and God? From Ancient Greece, Colonial America, to modern urban and post-apocalyptic settings, and even The Underworld, these stories follow different characters in their struggle to reach their final destination after death. Would you be so desperate to live again that you would rob your own grave to get your body back? Would you listen to the angel that tells you that in order to be forgiven for your sin, you must burn down the demon-infested hotel where you work? Would you walk into the mouth of a giant three-headed snake in hopes of escaping Tartarus and travelling to a brighter future after being tried and executed as a witch? These are just some of the questions even you may have to face in the end.

Arlen James grew up in a rural setting. He moved to ‘the big city’ in his early twenties in pursuit of a career in the music scene. When he grew tired of rowdy punk kids in hot sweaty venues, he turned his focus to writing as a creative outlet.

He received acknowledgement and accolades as a poet, but discovered that short stories were a better way to express the random, fleeting thoughts filling his brain. He enjoys painting pictures in your mind, and sending you on a twisted journey. He currently resides in Saskatoon, Canada.
