This is the first novel from David Black who writes under his late mother's maiden name. David hails from the Isle of Wight and has a simple philosophy to life:; doubt everything, find your own light.
He says; ‘The idea for this book has been circulating around my head for the past ten years; I started writing it eight years ago.
‘The story of Lady Jane Grey has fascinated many since her death and exemplifies the complexity brutality of the Tudor reign and others before and after it; with religious persuasion and a lust for power being the overriding reason for the rise, fall and often death of many.
‘There are many aspects of the accounts of Jane's life which do not make sense but the one that set me off on this path wasis the fact that nowhere is there a verified painting, from the time, of Lady Jane Grey; that seemed odd to me for a former queen of England; albeit for only nine days.'
