Rin Greenwood has been writing since childhood and has a strong passion for all forms of storytelling. She was born in Australia in 1995, and she has a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Creative Writing. Writing is her third career choice, as she would much rather be a steampunk sky pirate or a dragon.
Well, I think it's good.
Thoroughly engaging read, absolutely love it!
What an amazing read with such great characters. Look forward to the next one.
BOOK REVIEW
Cry of the Dawn by Rin Greenwood
This is one book that makes you want the author to drop everything else and get cracking on the sequel!
The depth of description and dialogue between this band of seemingly dysfunctional but loyal and intrepid travellers makes the story that much more believable.
A fantasy, which in my mind appears to be aimed at the young adult demographic, is still a brilliant read for the older brigade who are still young-at-heart. I truly hope that will become an epic series.
A definite five star read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful fantasy adventure! The world Rin has created can be seen as mirroring our own this makes the reader question whether this is fantasy or our own medieval times. I find the slight touches to our own mythological history brilliantly intriguing and the settings well defined and brought to life. The hero Skye has stolen my heart, as the reluctant hero that just can’t help finding trouble everywhere he goes; I find his personality perfect and well thought out. As the story gathers travellers along the way you end up with a wonderful mix of characters that really work well together. You feel as though you can see where the story is going but then right at the end all is revealed and everything you thought gets turned upside down. I also loved the little quotes at the beginning of each chapter, they were a beautiful touch
Excellent read, with completely unseen twists at the end. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
Definite 5 star rating.
Cry of the Dawn is a truly fascinating novel following a group of youngsters who find themselves in the middle of an age-old prophecy. The different scenes and characters present in this story all feel very fresh and unique. Character arcs are meticulously crafted and serve for very satisfying reading. The writing is so full of life. You really can feel this book. Interestingly, this novel is heavily inspired by anime and manga. Their tropes and techniques can be found in Rin’s novel, which really hooks your attention. It’s something I haven’t seen done before. It’s a highly original Japanese-Western fused writing style which is sure to please. I really hope you check out this book, because it’s certainly worth it.
