Delany left the army after becoming seriously injured whilst on active duty in foreign parts. He was repatriated to England and when he was fully recovered, and because of his admiration for the positive actions of a police officer friend, he joined the Constabulary.

His new employers soon became aware that he would make an excellent officer and that he was particularly adept at deep undercover work.

This book covers some of his, at times death defying, adventures.

David Tetlow was born in Rossendale, Lancashire, during the Second World War. Following his school years, he worked as a mechanical engineer and later specialized in textile machinery research and development.

He is married to Joyce and has a son, a daughter and four grandchildren. He joined the Lancashire police during the 1960s and completed most of his thirty-year-service in Greater Manchester, where he retired as an investigating officer.

I have read both of David’s books now. I really enjoyed Delaney’s progress. It is clear that David has the knowledge of policing. I have enjoyed reading of Delaney’s move from Army to Police and the challenges involved. His rapid move from one rank to another. Great to see someone writing about people achieving through experience rather than qualifications. A good read and worth getting.

Having read both books by this author I find it quite an insight into what lengths the police go to to protect us, the public, and what dangers they face.
It is quite obvious that David has a sense of humour which shows quite clearly in parts of this book. I look forward to hearing more about Delaney as his career develops.
    A very good read.
