Set in a Lincolnshire village during and just after World War One, this book follows a group of teenagers as they set out on life’s adventures and leave their sheltered childhood behind to find their way in a new and changing world. Pamela was born in a small town on the North East coast of England. She is the youngest of five sisters and a brother. There was this restlessness within her from a very early age and she spent seventeen years in Canada before returning briefly to her home town.

Still eager to embrace life, Pamela sought out more adventure in the USA and stayed there for fourteen years before retiring back in her beloved Lincolnshire.
