I found this book to be an easy and enjoyable read.

It is essentially a love story set in the war time ruins of France, and then Scotland. But it is also thought provoking.

Not only does it explore the depths of courage and the lengths people would go to, in conditions of extreme adversity to save fellow human beings, it also explores individual patriotic bravery, shown in the pursuit of liberation from an invading hostile enemy.

I would definitely recommend this book.

An engaging read. “Flame” appears, at first sight, to be fairly typical of the genre but offers the reader a thought-provoking and wide-ranging plot. Essentially, “Flame” is a book which seeks to spike both imagination and empathy; certainly across the deck chair season.

I loved this book! From the moment I started reading I was drawn in and didn't want to put it down, I had to know what would happen next. A lovely story of romance, bravery and courage. A brilliant read!
