Book Description
Follow the lives of JP, Jamie, Anto, and Deco, four young friends growing up in the working-class neighbourhood of Tallaght, Dublin. This coming-of-age story traces their journey from the age of twelve into their twenties, navigating a world where life is far from easy.
For Jamie, childhood was marked by tragedy. When he was just four years old, his father was murdered on a cold winter’s night while walking home from the pub. The trauma lingered, but having JP by his side gave him a sense of safety and belonging that helped soften the harshness of life.
As the boys grow up, they face the weight of a world that demands too much, too soon. Drink and drugs become part of their daily lives as they try to cope with the chaos around them. Along the way, they experience the pain of losing loved ones, the intensity of first sexual encounters, and the violent realities that shape the roads they walk.
