Book Description

Forever in My Heart narrates the touching journey of young Pearl navigating the profound loss of her mother, Alli. This evocative and poetic book serves as an empathetic awareness tool to assist children in comprehending loss in a gentle and accessible manner. The narrative tenderly concludes with Pearl and her mother finding everlasting solace within Pearl’s heart.

As the author, who has endured the heartache of losing both parents, I empathise with the profound challenge of coping with loss at any age. Having lost my father at the tender age of only eight, I understand the importance of providing some guidance and relief during such trying times.

Through this heartfelt book, my aim is to offer comfort and understanding to those in need, while honouring the cherished memory of my dear mother, Allison Jillian Detering. Forever cherished and held close in my heart.

Genevieve Detering’s journey began in Namibia, Africa, where she grew up and completed her primary education. After exploring different places around the world, she settled in New York City, where she acquired a filmmaking diploma and spent a decade working behind the scenes in the film industry, assisting some of Hollywood’s top talents. Despite her success in filmmaking, Genevieve’s true passion lies in writing, which became even more significant after the loss of her mother in 2016, which inspired her first book Forever in My Heart. This pivotal moment led her to Cape Town, South Africa, where she now lives as an entrepreneur, writer and mindset coach, embracing her multifaceted talents and helping others along their paths.
