Originally from Long Island, Dr. Lisa Macon is a technology educator at a community college in Orlando, Florida. Even though she spends her days writing and grading computer programs, she spends her nights and weekends reading and writing poetry to heal her heart. She lives with her husband, two youngest children, two dogs, two cats, and one beloved Nana. She hopes that her poems inspire new thoughts of empowerment, as well as actions.

Reading Frozen by Lisa Macon was an uplifting and restorative experience. As someone that is new to the realm of poetry, I was nervous that I wouldn’t enjoy or connect to this work. However- I was so so wrong. I was instantly captivated by the ebb and flow of love, joy, and grief shared through the pages and found myself on more than one occasion reading and rereading passages, connecting their messages to experiences in my own life.
