Gardens at night are mysterious and busy places. Hatty never knows whom she will meet when she leaves home. In this book her moonlight encounters give us an insight into life in a garden after dark. It must seem quite a scary place for a little hedgehog as she goes in search of food, but we know she has a coat of quills to protect her. Nevertheless, there can be surprises and dangers on her nightly journey. Keep safe, Hatty!

Midge first started writing verse at school and has continued at various times throughout her life. Having worked in a nursery school, the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm inspired her to use the medium of verse to tell her stories. She is a passionate gardener who appreciates the natural world.

  • A lovely book that my 3 year old son wanted me to read again and again. He liked learning about hedgehogs and also enjoyed this particular hedgehog's adventure.
