Val and Laura are both nurses that trained together and share a love of books. Over the years, Val has written poems for friends and Laura uses her talents to bring the verse to life with her marvellous pictures. Urged on by their grandchildren to write a story for them, this is the result.
I pre-ordered this book and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The quality was instantly recognisable, with an added bonus of the lettering on the Front cover being shiny Gold, instead of the red and green from the image...This made the book even more special.. The story is in rhyme and full of animals that my children (aged 9 and 6 years old) loved.. It had a repetitive rhyme with a message to tell the children not to be afraid of scary things, my children remembered this part and repeated it with me as I read it to them...This kept them captivated and they loved it so much they made me read it over, and over AND OVER again!! The quality is instantly recognisable and worth the extra few pennies! I would recommend this to anyone with young children!
