Lee Heywood grew up in Mossley, a small, northern, rural town at the foothills of the Pennines, just outside Manchester. His main passion was sport and fitness, and being a keen footballer from a young age, he played for his local team, Mossley Juniors.
He pursued a career in fitness, which included several hundred hours of voluntary coaching within his local community, specialising in youth development and working in local schools. This was part of his quest to become a qualified personal trainer.
With a reputation as one of the best personal trainers locally, he spent the next few years in Dubai at one of the largest global fitness brands, Fitness First Middle East. While there, the Kaizen philosophy—continuous improvement—became a big part of Lee’s life and his connection to forming a story and a strong influence on Japanese culture started to take shape.
When Lee ventured out on his own and Kaizen Fitness UAE was born, he began to grow and flourish in many new ways as he navigated through his own Middle Eastern adventure, adopting a strong warrior mindset in the process. The great battle of change had truly begun. To quote a line from one of his many life mentors: You have to believe to achieve.
After four successful years helping many people change their lives for the better, Lee returned to the UK in 2015 to live in Warrington with his young family, where he continues to train clients, both young and old, to help them unmask their true self, improve self-esteem, develop a strong character from within and reach their optimal fitness potential, both physically and mentally.
Ten years on from his initial concept and with a wealth of life experience behind him, including a recent traumatic family tragedy, Lee now wishes to share with you, the readers, his story of Kaizen: The Battle of Change.
