How on earth did the twins Michael and Freya become trapped on an old-fashioned pirate ship?

Michael and Freya wake up to find themselves trapped aboard “The Golden Dragon”, an old pirate ship controlled by the wicked Captain Nastypants.

Mummy and Daddy are nowhere to be seen.

The terrified children wonder “how did we get here”?

More importantly, HOW DO THEY ESCAPE?

Bernard was born in Barking, England but has lived in the Chelmsford area since 1977. He spent most of his working life providing IT support to financial institutions before moving into IT recruitment. He retired in 2019. Bernard has been married for over 50 years and has two children and twin grandchildren Michael and Freya.

Brilliant book by a new author. Children will enjoy this book as they will be able to relate to it. The right amount of adventure with a happy ending. What is there not to like.

Loved the story, perfect for the targeted listeners! Cannot wait to read the exciting adventure to the grandchildren!

  • John James

This is a wonderful story to read to young children. My nephews were captivated and couldn’t wait to hear how or if the twins escaped. It kept them entertained and I think they have a new hero.

This is an exciting adventure story for children, I bought it as a present for young relatives in New Zealand but decided to read it myself, it brought a tear to my eye. It was not possible to anticipate what will happen during the twins adventure so will be exciting for the child to read or be read to. My granddaughter, who is doing her placement from college with Key Stage 1 in a primary school thought it would be a suitable book for the teacher to read to this age group.

An entertaining read for children and thought-provoking too.
