Book Description

When forensic pathologist Fiona Sinclair says goodbye to her siblings at Moorland Forensic Consultants and moves her family to Australia, she is immediately thrust into the middle of a major backpacker murder investigation, joining forces with an unlikely ally in DCI Linton Ansley of the NSW Police. Is there a connection between the global launch of a new anti-cancer drug and a series of murders and violent assaults in outback Australia? Could a spate of seemingly unrelated, baffling deaths back in southwest England play a part?As events unfold in Devon, DCI Will Parker and Detective Mallory Wakefield enlist the scientific expertise of Dartmoor-based Moorland Forensics, while the Devon and Cornwall CID, confounded by a series of nightclub-related murders, uncover a possible link to an Exeter crime family and scandalous, sinister developments in Australia.Events in the UK and Down Under build to a suspenseful and heart-stopping climax, as a gripping fight for survival plays out in the rugged mountains of the Australian Capital Territory.Be swept along as the Sinclair forensic team joins local and international law enforcement in Death of Innocence, the latest instalment in the Moorland Forensics series, set against the backdrop of the striking Sydney Harbour landscape and the wild remoteness of Papua New Guinea, all brought vividly to life by Julie D. Jones.

Julie was born in Bovey Tracey, Devon and raised in the South Hams on the South Coast. After training as a nurse at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital she moved to Australia and divided her time between working as a clinical nurse and within the music industry.
This is her first novel and draws on experiences growing up in the spectacular landscapes of South Devon and a passion from an early age to write.
She is a classically trained flautist, proficient horse rider and journalist.
She lives in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area near Sydney with her husband and two children.
