At a time when so many of us lose sight of the humanity we share in common, Vijay Lakshmi's My Dogly Days reminds us that under the surface, our struggles, our dreams and our aspirations are all the same. We long for companionship, we long for love, and most of all we long to make our stories known.  With lyricism, insight, and wisdom, the brilliance of this book is the way it makes clear that we are all us part of the same human family.

No one could emulate the true spirit of our Sir Toby, the renowned beagle, than my mother, the author, of this remarkable piece of literature. Vijay Lakshmi goes into great depths tp depict gentle bonding between Sir Toby and the characters he encounters in his adventurous life. She talks of love and care, compassion and suffering, and people at their very best and their very worst. It is a book that calls for humane rights and humane education. it is a voice of the silent spoken through the written word, thought and emotion. It renews our belief in the spirit of our most lovable companions and that they deserve no less than the kings and queens of our hearts and souls.
