My Pet Elephant

Josh is a kind boy who has a pet baby elephant who loves to play with Josh. However, elephant’s trunk begins to twitch and twirl and twist. CRASH! BASH! CLASH! The poor elephant hasn’t learnt to control the clumsy trunk so there’s plenty of trunk trouble along the way. Will elephant ever learn to control the tricky trunk?

This is a wonderful picture book story for pre-schoolers and young children to share and enjoy with somebody. Have fun counting cubes, spotting colours, and matching socks in the colourful illustrations.

Claire Bond lives in Cornwall and enjoys exploring the coastline and countryside. She loves animals, both wild and domestic. Her hobbies include art, photography, writing, music, films and sport.

Claire is a primary school teacher with a curriculum specialism in art and design. She has a love of literacy through teaching, books and films. As a kid she enjoyed reading fairy tales, comics and watching cartoons.

She was inspired to write picture book stories when she became a mummy. Having experienced first-hand the excitement and curiosity of little one’s approach to the world, Claire’s inner child and imagination was sparkled too!

Claire has attended St Agnes Library to read both her books “My Pet Zebra” and “My Pet Elephant” at our storytime sessions and both times, the children have loved listening to these books. We would be pleased if you could add this review to your website. The children loved counting with the character of Josh in the story, as he stacked his building blocks. The children rubbed their noses joyfully every time the elephant encountered “Trunk Trouble” in the book! The book encourages young children to be resilient and adapt to problems and obstacles that come their way. They love both the characters of Josh and the elephant and adore the colourful illustrations and page backgrounds. A charming book for young children.
