Nigel the spider is a colourful character who lives in a shed and loves life to the fullest. One day Nigel suffers a painful incident with a fellow shed inhabitant but seems to survive, albeit battle-scarred. After waiting for sunshine, Nigel ventures into the garden seeking adventure. It soon unfolds as he revels in surrounding beauty and joyous affection from fellow creatures. However, Nigel learns not all are happy and friendly when he meets a nasty garden resident. His adventures prove bittersweet, but will he live to tell the tale?

While delighting children, this zany humour also entertains adults.

Robert Ney is a law graduate, from Lymm in Cheshire, England, who took to writing after a successful career in law enforcement and road safety. He also successfully ran a number of small businesses before dedicating his time to writing for children in his own unique and inimitable humorous style. Robert lives with his wife, Myrna, and they have two grown up children, Louise and Robert, who now live away from the family home with their own families. Robert’s sense of humour has often got him into light hearted trouble over the years, but his humour always wins through.
