It was once said: “Life is not about the breaths we take, but about the moments that take our breath away.”

Well, you will be completely out of puff, yet your emotional side will be spinning in the opposite direction to your breathing.

An awesome segment of life and an insight to human resilience.

I am an older woman telling of an experience that changed my life in many ways forever.

Sadly, my children do not want anything to do with me, and I have to understand, it is their right in life to make their own decisions; be they what I like or not. It saddens me that they do not understand that I realise mistakes that I have made in life, but these mistakes were in the past and that is where they should stay; as there is nothing you can do about the past but learn from mistakes. Hopefully, one day they will come to want their mum again because she certainly wants them in her life. I will love them unconditionally for all the time and have done since time began for them.

I have come out of many situations in life, scarred to some degree and now suffer from these scars, but I am slowly learning, with help to try and control them to the best of my ability. This is easier for some than others. In my case, there were other extenuating circumstances throughout my life that kind of snowballed.

I am now finally living in a place that I can call haven on Earth and have finally unpacked and have now sat down to write this, hopefully, you will all enjoy reading.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have stood by me in times of trouble, that is what true friends do.

Very poignant, the writer has a great understanding of mental domestic violence with the ability to laugh at her self. Well written and not drawn out so the gist of the tale is lost. Hats off to you Lady of the Lake....well done.
